What will people say when there are still many students who don’t pass the final examination? Some will say that the students are not clever enough. Some will say that those students don’t really try to make their best effort to pass the exam. But then you will hear, even there are not a lot of people who say this statement, some people say that the students are not stupid, and actually they are also enthusiastic, but until now they don’t find a good teacher that will guide them.
Some of my students didn’t pass the final examination this year. The question is: is this because my students are stupid? Aren’t my students motivated? Or, because I am not a good teacher? Oh, am I? In an occasion, a man said that the cause of this failed is because most teachers in my town were educated in a low quality university.
It is important for a teacher to always learn. There are many things to learn as if there is less time to achieve all competence. And this is the problem. Are the teachers ready to always learn? Do the teachers intend to spend their most time to upgrade their competence?
So if there is one who said that the cause of the failed in final examination was the teachers who were educated in a bad university, I think it’s too naïve.
Why? Someone who studied in a best university indeed would have an intense interaction with a well educated person in their field. They, maybe, will also inherit the culture of learning from their lecturers. But who can guarantee that they will always keep the culture of learning after they had been graduated? In common, people stop learning immediately after they finish their studies.
Then, is it impossible for them who were graduated from a bad university to always learn? Is it strange for us if there is a bad university graduated person who always learn even they are not a university student anymore?
A teacher graduated from a good university will have more opportunity to be a good teacher. But the same chance will also be gained by those who were graduated from bad university if they have more effort to always learn.
